We know quite a few people who are making major life changes these days, living with the question of what to do next, waiting for the path to become clear. So we were really struck, and curiously heartened, by this series of images by photographer  Ellie Davies

  1. Dear Improvised Life,

thank you so much for this beautiful reminder of the unfolding path, running counter to the feelings of imminent danger of not being able to make ‘it’ happen quickly enough, and the self-flagelation for the subsequent feelings of inadequacy. It reminded me so gently to be patient with myself, keep doing the work even if I can’t see results (yet?), and that I in fact do have a path I’m trying to forge/follow.

    Thank you!

  2. Love this! Especially that you don’t always know where the path will end. But the next step is always right in front of you.

  3. Your work reminds me of the artist Andrew Goldsworthy. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

  4. Throughout Covid, and maybe the rest of my life, improvised life MATTERS.
    Thank you
