As we start to wrap our heads around decorating the Thanksgiving table, we stumbled on this image from a dinner party in an artist’s studio, published in Anthology Magazine. This place setting incorporates a number of ideas we’ve featured over the years, in an especially charming way. The placemat is simply a sheet paper ripped from an art pad with the menu artfully printed on it; we love that it drapes over the edge of the table. Kraft paper also works fine with a handmade artwork or drawing.

If you’re no artist, print out interesting photos.

The napkins are Ikea’s inexpensive cotton Tekla dishtowels. (Ten 26″x20″ cloth dish towel/napkins cost about $17 at Amazon.)

The Anthology “dining space” is defined by a canvas painter’s drop cloth used as a floor cloth. (This polycoated drop cloth
has possibilities.)

We’re thinking herb bouquests would stand in a unexpected flowers.

If you’re stuck for how to create a table and chairs big enough to seat a crowd, check out our ideas here.
