Maria Robledo sent us some these images she found in her vast photo archive. At a photo shoot at Maria’s studio, Suzanne Shaker and I were playing “face lift”, standing behind each other and gently “lifting” the other’s face. It was a funny, weird, grown-up girls’ game played by women who’d never actually get a face lift. We’re game to go where our faces take us…
For a moment, we found a way to improvise younger selves.

Spring passes and one remembers one’s innocence.
Summer passes and one remembers one’s exuberance.
Autumn passes and one remembers one’s reverence.
Winter passes and one remembers one’s perseverance.― Yoko Ono
Lovely ladies both, every day and any age.
Aw, shucks, I do that all the time.
I’ve never seen a photo of your friend, Maria Robledo, until today. I always imagined her as a wise older lady whose wisdom was untouchable. How surprising, in a good way to see young, vibrant and beautiful woman. What fun to see this lovely sage full of truth.
Hey Susan, The top photo is Suzanne Shaker, not Maria; Maria took the photos when Suzanne and I were fooling around at a photoshoot. Maria IS beautiful. There’s a picture of her here:
