We stumbled on these HUGE dish towels and ordered a set to check out, having learned the hard way that the real thing is often way different than pictures. We washed them and…they are great, 100% cotton, wonderful-looking and useful for many things. A set of three costs $20; they come in 14 colors.
Having been warned that their colors can bleed, we washed them separately in hot water and then dried them in a hot dryer. They shrank slightly from their original size of 36″ x 24″ to 32″ x 23″, and the white stayed white.
Then we compared them to a normal size dish towel; big difference!

We can see using these jumbos for all sorts of uses: as overlapping tableclothes for our smallish terrace tables, to take on picnics and especially, as drawer liners. We can imagine sewing two together on three sides to make a pillow cover for an standard size bed pillow, to use on a sofa or outdoor chair. And some readers suggested they’d make great wrapping paper and furoshiki.
Thanks for the tip. Very helpful for you to have washed and dried before posting.
As soon as I saw your photo, I was thinking that perhaps they would also make excellent furoshiki?

Hope your patient (whose post I found very moving) is progressing well.

I washed the clothes as part of “test-driving” everything we sell in the store. Needless to say, they did well.
Furoshiki ia a great use for these big clothes. Thanks! We did a post on it some time ago, with a swell little video.
