Last night for a short while, we could see the memorial lights from the World Trade Center streaming straight up into the sky from our terrace at the other end of Manhattan. In a moment we realized where we were in September, and remembered where we had been when the towers were struck on September 11, 2001.

Everyone we know remembers exactly where they were at that moment and will relive that today, along with their private view of its meaning.

We’re going to take some time out to stop, reflect, say a prayer.

This little memorial graffiti artist Banksy made in 2013 a few blocks from the Trade Centers seems very New York, and very fitting.
