At Maria Robledo‘s house the other evening, a huge glass bowl of floating blossoms and petals replaced the usual flowers on the dining table: a charming and surprising “pond” made from three simple elements: a bowl + water + blossoms or flower petals. Maria said it was her husband’s idea. He floated the pond with tiny blossoms, and a few crimson petals..

She wasn’t crazy about the red petals, so she took them out, to make a subtler color palette of blossoms…

Depending on the angle you looked at it — and where you were sitting at the table— the water would reveal beautiful refractions and views…
