Buried in a photo series about C-Mine design center in Genk, Belgium at Vosges Paris is an image of someone rubber stamping what we thought at first were paper placemats or cloths. Wonderful idea! Although when we looked close, they appear to be…just rubber stamping cards. No matter, the idea to rubber stamp paper or cloth placemats, napkins or tablecloths is a great one.

Playing on our recurring theme of using brown or white Kraft paper for table settings, rubber stamping offers endless to make charming or intriguing patterns and signs. Here are some ideas for diying or buying.

You can even make your own stamps by simply carving Staedtler Mars Erasers (how-to here). We’ve always been partial to Tomi Ungerer’s frolic stamps, done in the ’70s…
