At ten years old, Improvised Life’s architecture and organization needed a serious refresh. And so did I. The new site is designed to be easier and more fun to use, for you and for me.

No doubt, the new look will be a bit disorienting for those used to its former look. Please give yourself time (and patience) to get acclimated. As you test drive the new design, let me know any glitches you encounter, things you find irritating, or suggestions for improvements: [email protected]  (Bear in mind that we are still getting up to speed, and have changes yet to implement, including signup form to receive alerts of new posts, social media buttons, etc.)

The site is a work-in-progress, some of it experimental, as I steer Improvised Life through rapidly-changing internet waters and my own changing life.

It’s good to be back.

What’s new here?

—The site is simpler, with fewer bells and whistles and easier access to its vast content. Fewer bells and whistles mean a more direct user experience and easier management for me.

—You can now scroll endlessly through Improvised Life’s 4,000+ posts, or navigate according to your interest via the wide-ranging menu of topics.

—The paywall is gone. In the coming weeks, I’ll implement a new system of supporting Improvised Life through donations, one-time or ongoing. More on that, and what it means for old subscribers, coming soon.

—I’ll be posting twice a week. I invite you to sign up for the email alerting you to new content. Old subscribers: you’ll need to sign up fresh to get emails with our snappy new system.

If you’ve found illumination, joy, or inspiration in this post, please consider supporting Improvised Life. It only takes a minute to make a secure donation that helps pay our many costs. A little goes a long way towards helping Improvised Life continue to live ad-free in the world.
