My favorite tool of late is the Hulkenbag, a big cleverly-designed open satchel-on-wheels that holds its structure and can be rolled around anywhere. I throw in whatever I need to shlep and go. That includes hauling “contactless” grocery deliveries up to my apartment from the lobby where they’re dropped; laundry; cans of paint and a big mirror to a friend’s house; farmer’s market purchases; even a stool so I would have something to sit on while waiting an hour+ on the visitor’s line at the hospital….to name a few.

I have always been a shlepper and hence an aficionado of bags. I’ve used many in my life and actually tried to prototype something similar to the Hulken years ago. What I love is that the Hulkenbag is durable, reasonably priced, holds its shape and walks alongside me. And it looks good.

The design is clever. It folds flat and stays folded so you can carry it on your shoulder…

…or easily store it, essential with my limited space. When you shake it open it holds its shape.

@hulkenbag

It comes in four sizes and five colors, including rose gold. I started with the medium size which I use most, but quickly bought the large, which is huge, and which I use for more serious hauling. I hear the extra-large can hold a child.

@hulkenbag

The Hulkenbag holds up to 66 pounds and has become my main method of hauling just about anything. ..

If you prefer, you can put it over one arm like the giant satchels tres-chic women sometimes carry….

@hulkenbag

The one caveat: If you have a long way to walk on very narrow or uneven sidewalks, it can be a bit trying. It’s easiest to guide when it walks alongside you and that’s difficult on a narrow sidewalk.

For me, it’s many advantages seriously outweigh that occasional irritation.

@hulkenbag

I’ve found the Hulkenbag makes a welcome gift (I’ve given three)…
