We were stunned at the news of Nora Ephon<\/a>‘s passing, wondering how could it be? It seemed like she would always be here. As columnist Liz Smith wrote: “What the hell will we do without you?”\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Ephron\u00a0told few people of her dire illness, but, we see now, aluded to it in her biography I Remember Nothing: And Other Reflections (Vintage)<\/a>. She included two lists:\u00a0What I Won’t Miss and What I Will Miss:<\/p>\n

What I wont miss<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Dry skin<\/em>
\n Bad dinners like the one we went to last night<\/em>
\n E-mail<\/em>
\n Technology in general<\/em>
\n My closet<\/em>
\n Washing my hair<\/em>

\n E-mail. I know I already said it, but I want to emphasize it.<\/em>
