Using our rusty French to translate this video tour of her Paris apartment, we&#8217;ve gathered a small trove of smart, original, inspiring and doable ideas \u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/SU_nnd8pt_8\" target=\"_blank\">Video link here.<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SU_nnd8pt_8\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>She designed the kitchen (.48) in four &#8220;quadrants&#8221;, one for each main function: the stove\/cooking area; a big sink for washing pots and dishes; a marble worktop for pastry and other preparations; and the big luxury for Navone, a special shallow\u00a0sink only for washing vegetables, <em>a sort of swimming pool for lettuces to float in<\/em>. (It reminds us a bit of <a href=\"https:\/\/improvisedlife.com\/2009\/10\/19\/sink-as-work-surface-designed-by-a-cook\/\" target=\"_blank\">Margot Wellingtons shallow prep sink<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>Extra chairs are\u00a0perched on top of storage structures throughout the high-ceilinged flat.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-60092\" src=\"https:\/\/improvisedlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/paola-navone-paris-kitchen-790x516.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"790\" height=\"516\" srcset=\"https:\/\/improvisedlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/paola-navone-paris-kitchen-790x516.jpg 790w, https:\/\/improvisedlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/paola-navone-paris-kitchen-300x196.jpg 300w, https:\/\/improvisedlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/paola-navone-paris-kitchen-768x502.jpg 768w, https:\/\/improvisedlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/paola-navone-paris-kitchen-422x276.jpg 422w, https:\/\/improvisedlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/paola-navone-paris-kitchen-500x327.jpg 500w, https:\/\/improvisedlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/paola-navone-paris-kitchen.jpg 963w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 790px) 100vw, 790px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Navone\u00a0allows little color in the kitchen, except for the bright tomato red water taps. Some she refurbishes to her own design. 2:36.
