It hadn’t occurred to us to think beyond the idea of S’mores we’ve had in our head for eons: a sandwich of graham crackers, chocolate bar and marshmallows melted by whatever means is available (campfire, oven, heat gun, even.) Then we stumbled on a complete re-envisioning of the three elements that blew our mind in the most pleasurable way.
They are the creations of Canadian artist Gab Bois whose visions of mundane objects, at once fantastical and completely credible, afford delight similar to the best kid’s books. Her instagram feed is transporting.
Trying to clear my mind when going into a brainstorming session is key. More often than not, the best ideas are sitting right under my nose and are the simplest ones. I turn off any electronic device that might be a distraction and get to work. Also, I try to allow time to get settled in; the first half-hour is usually only good to get focused and not really to find many great ideas. They tend to come later on.

I have always drawn pictures of everyday objects though I am not an artist by occupation. For me, there is art in almost everything if one just sees.
Thank for this. Yes, and in drawing or photographing or…whatever…everyday objects, we SEE them in new ways.
