(Video link here.) This video of Merce Cunningham’s Scenario is a lovely thing to look at first thing in the morning (we love it with the sound off for the wondrous silent movement). Its costumes by Rei Kawakubo gave us inspiration for Halloween creations: stretchy tights and tee-shirts stuffed with pillows to turn yourself into a sort of sculpture.  As Mira Keras remarked: Since tights have a seam centered on your butt, it makes it easy to create a ‘big butt’ effect.

But truly the surprising and poetic idea came when we asked our friend Chris Eldredge what he was going to be for Halloween
